Stock FD hoods trap heat. The 13B doesn't have a thermal margin to spare, and the Mazdaspeed cowl design has been the answer for FD owners for decades. Most of the "Mazdaspeed style" hoods on the market right now are fiberglass shells with a single carbon overlay or wet-lay copies with sloppy panel alignment. We build ours from real carbon weave with dialed-in fit so it sits flush with the cowl, fenders, and bumper.
